Restaurants, coffee shops, bakery, meat shops and grocery stores have one thing in common. All of the mentioned establishments have a display fridge. It is a piece of appliance with a transparent cover that is set at a low temperature. In this type of establishment having a fridge is not just a mere ornamental piece but a necessity. This is where the owners can store foods, beverages and other perishable items like meats and meat products. Though this type of fridge can be seen also in residential areas but this is very rare. Most often it is just use as an alternative for wine storage which is primarily for decorative purposes only.

Island fridges, upright, curved glass or deli upright, hi/low upright fridge, low meat and wrap around fridges are the most common types of display fridge. An Island fridge is commonly seen in grocery stores where ice creams and other dairy products like cheese and butter are stored. In some cases it is also used to store cold meats. It comes in two kinds, the jumbo and the wide island fridge. Both have almost the same functionality except that it varies in its design and size. For grocery stores and meat shops the one that is frequently used is the upright fridge or also known as the multi deck or three tier. This is ideal for meat displays which allow the customers to easily select the meat of their choice and because of its hugeness; it can stock up more items. On the other hand, curve glass or upright deli is usually seen on bakery shops because it has thicker micron material which can sustain to constant opening and closing of its cover. A Hi/low upright fridge is perfect for restaurants and coffee shops where cakes, desserts and other delicacies can be displayed. It has big storage area and a very classy design too. For vegetables and fruits, a wrap around fridge is usually used. Covers for these fridges are normally on the top and for processed meats like ham and bacon which are already packed, wrap around fridges is the type mainly used by business owners. These models are designed with front opening and usually squat on the floor area.

The popularity of these types of display fridges is becoming widespread. More and more business establishments have been using this one because of its high functionality and also because having this type of storage is more hygienic. You can easily see if there are spoils or mess on your fridge. This type of fridge also allows the customers to comfortably select the items that they want to purchase. And because of its translucency in design, product inventory becomes easier which gives great advantage for business owners. Checking for item availability becomes hassle free too. For marketing and sales purposes, soft drinks and beer manufacturers have been using this to display their items in stores and mini marts. Usually fridges are given free of charge. Just imagine how difficult will it using the conventional type of refrigerators just like the one we are using at home. It would definitely be hard both for commercial establishments and customers.
