It is amazing how much we have progressed since the Stone Age. Technology and innovations have brought a lot of things into greater heights, and even the seemingly back-to-basics outdoor activities, like camping, are already a target market by clever and modern contraptions.

The usual discomforts of camping are uncomfortable sleeping ground; insect bites which may cause rashes or even fever; scorching heat during sunny days; rain and mud on rainy days; cold and moisture that come with the dawn; literally no room for privacy; and no services of a functional kitchen. For those who are avid campers, they may scoff at these complaints and say that we might as well uproot the house and move it to a camping site. All these things may only be had in a house! A much more suitable option may be a trailer van, but even that can get too expensive.

It just so happens that clever camping gear has been created to do just the thing: bring the comforts of a home outside in a camp. This is the genius of a trailer tent. It is jam packed (literally) with awesome features that will make any camping experience comfortable and much more enjoyable.

This is a collapsible tent system that is stored in a portable compartment on two wheels, rather like a wagon. And it works just the same way. It is attached at the rear of your vehicle for easy transport. This compact form is truly a dual feature in one. Some units even have a luggage rack on top where you can place other equipment like mountain bikes, folding tables and chairs.

Perhaps the most exciting feature of a trailer tent is the mini kitchen that cleverly opens from the rear of the compact wagon. This comes with a sink and a stove. No more waiting for the campfire to grow hot enough to cook sausages on poker sticks, and certainly no more stray dirt on your food!

The tent’s walls, ceiling and floor mat are all waterproof, a very useful feature for a shelter. You are exposed to the elements when out camping, and the last thing you want to happen is to get drenched by an unanticipated drizzle. Not only will it potentially ruin your plans, but you can also get sick. For sunny camping days, there are window flaps which may be zipped open to cool the interior. Some models even have awnings at the entrance. This feature serves as the best spot to set up a table and chairs, so you can enjoy the shade and nature at the same time.

Another useful feature is the small mattress bed that opens up at the base, along with the mini kitchen counter. Overnight camping gets better with this comfortable bed to sleep in. This is another feature which makes this tent ideal for family camping trips. Young children will not be bothered by uncomfortable beddings, and they are protected from the cold night air.

Overnight camping with a trailer tent is just like a having a collapsible house on wheels. No better luxury can be had when out camping.
